Finished my new Starry Night Skull Mask and I am pretty pleased with it. I found some yarn that really brought out the colors in the mask. Here it is all finished.
Created out of hand cast paper using recycled junk mail, printer paper, dryer lint and more I then use a blender to blend the paper back into pulp and reform it into the shape of a skull. After drying for several weeks the skull is taken out of its mold and hand painted with acrylic and metallic paints that make it sparkle in the light and come alive. Finally the piece is sealed with a protective varnish, copper hooks and yarn hair are added to finish the piece.
The mask alone (not including hair) is 7 inches tall and 5.25 inches wide.
Mask with hair measures 14 inches long
The face itself is then sealed in a satin varnish to protect it,
