sewing machine
May. 17th, 2003 03:03 pmI have a sewing machine in my basement and it works, but when I push on the pedal the needle doesn't move. I figured out that this thing was the culprit. Here's a picture.

That thing should be a circle but it broke, thats what spins the thing to move the needle. I can still use the machine if I spin it to turn the needle myself, but I would really like to be able to use the machine for its original purpose. Now my question is, what is that thing and where can I buy a new one? I figured I would have to try to replace that thing and see if it works. I feel kind of helpless because I have this sewing machine in my basement and it doesn't really work and I see all of these terrific sewing projects I could be doing. Sorry for no pictures of the machine itself, I only have a webcam. It's a Kenmore, the kind that comes with the table, and I'm not sure how old it is but it's many years old if that helps :) Thank you =)
