Duct Tape Flip Flops!
May. 18th, 2003 05:38 amI don't really know if this counts as a "craft" per se...
My friend and I decided that if you can make a wallet out of duct tape, why not make matching accessories?
So Natalie came up with the brilliant (or crazy?) idea of duct tape flip-flops!
They have duct tape in all kinds of colors- blue, red, black, neon green and orange, and even camoflage print!
We bought red and regular, or silver or whatever because they didn't have the neon colors.. The only other choice was this ugly hunter's camo print.
We traced our favorite thongs on cardboard and cut them out.
We made 3 of each foot to have a sort of layered platform for cushion. So we duct-taped the 3 layers on top of each other and then covered the entire thing with duct-tape.
You have to be a little creative when it comes to making the toe part and the straps, but it turned out to be surprisingly easy.
I drew on mine with a Sharpie because they looked a little plain (and- well, ugly.)
The Finished Product

Duct Tape Project Links!!
Duct Tape Handbag
Duct Tape Prom Fashions
Duct Tape Shoes
Entirely unrelated but cool nevertheless:
SHRINKY DINKS FOR INK JET PRINTERS- you can print out any photo and turn it into a shrinky dink!
wow.
