I don't really know if this counts as a "craft" per se...

My friend and I decided that if you can make a wallet out of duct tape, why not make matching accessories?
So Natalie came up with the brilliant (or crazy?) idea of duct tape flip-flops!

They have duct tape in all kinds of colors- blue, red, black, neon green and orange, and even camoflage print!
We bought red and regular, or silver or whatever because they didn't have the neon colors.. The only other choice was this ugly hunter's camo print.
We traced our favorite thongs on cardboard and cut them out.
We made 3 of each foot to have a sort of layered platform for cushion. So we duct-taped the 3 layers on top of each other and then covered the entire thing with duct-tape.
You have to be a little creative when it comes to making the toe part and the straps, but it turned out to be surprisingly easy.
I drew on mine with a Sharpie because they looked a little plain (and- well, ugly.)

I finished my mod-podge box....but I have a question.

I finished it last night, and it's still a little "tacky" to the touch. Not much at all, but enough to cause the box lid to not slide on and off. It gets kinda stuck.

Will it eventually dry completely?

OK.. this is sort of craft related because i am almost positive that I saw the link on here (I checked the memories but couldn't find it). But, there was a website where someone was selling white tanktops (like wife beaters) with felt flowers sewn up the side, and I verymuch want to find that site again.. i just have no idea what it was, so if anyone could help that would be wooonderful. Thank you!

I am going to be starting a sewing class soon and I was wondering, where might I find some CUTE plus size patterns? Or how can I reconstruct a pattern I like to make it bigger? I'm about a size 24 and can't find anything at the fabric store that is anywhere near my style.

I was wondering, if I took a plain photo album, such as this one:

Would I be able to modge podge fabric to it? Or is there some other way to attatch fabric to a photo album, maybe with a hot glue gun?

a few quick questions -

preserving posters - I've accumulated numerous posters, but sadly they're a bit warped/ragged 'round the edges after a hazardous life on dormitory walls. Is there any way I can protect them without ugly glossy lamination or expensive, inconvenient framing?

fun with mirrors - I am currently in possession of one of those five dollar full-length wal-mart mirrors. It has an ugly drab brown frame and I'm trying to decide how to improve upon it. I'm toying with the idea of gluing vintage bottle caps around the frame, but that seems a tad pricey - I could probably buy an attractive silver mirror for as much as that would cost. Any suggestions?

wall decor - I apologize if this has been asked before, but is there anything I can do to dorm walls short of (a) covering it entirely in pictures (b) painting a mural? I was thinking of making a "tapestry" out of several layers of tulle, but knowing my luck it would probably look like feces. Anyone have experience with this sort of thing?

thanks (!)

I found mini bulletin boards at the dollar store here. I bought five of them, and i covered one of them in fabric for my best friend today.

hello everyone. i just have a question- my friends and i are planning an art/rock/craft-type expo. we want to have bands play, artists display their work, and those who make crafts be able to sell them... but, do we need any type of tax license to allow people to sell things? is there any loopholes in the system that would allow us to get away with not charging tax? we just want to be sure we aren't going to get any one in trouble. thanks!

Hello-
I checked the FAQ and I couldn't find any post or section on embossing. I checked under stamping and to no avail. Maybe I'm blind Kimmercake.. I need assistance.
Can I use a hair dryer when I emboss onto paper?
I remember reading a post on this a few months ago, but I don't remember the verdict. Thanks for your help!

ok, hope everyone gets this. i sent LETHALBUBBLEGUM a whole box of stuff. she got it and liked it and kept promising to send me two things which she promised. that was more than 3 months ago that she actually got it. more like 4 or more. i sent her 4,5, or more emails and this was not a misundertanding. im not trying to say shes a theif but maybe a mooch. if she doesnt have the money to make even a fair trade and expects things for free, then she certainly shouldnt be trading with anybody. i paid for MY postage and have a really shitty job myself, she doesnt even have 5 dollars? looks like shes got a paid user account-she can afford THAT but not to mail something?
