I saw a cute little banner someone had made and came up with my own version.

I purchased a panel length of Christmas material that was probably intended for quilting or pillows and cut each panel out. Then I used fusible iron-on webbing to attach each one to a piece of glittered felt I'd cut out with pinking shears. Next I sewed on a length of red grosgain ribbon at the top and attached a piece of thin red ribbon to hang with. Where I sewed on the hanger ribbon, I sewed a plaid ribbon bow to hide the attachment. Then I used glittered 'Scribbles' puff paint to pick out parts of the picture and to cover the edges of the material. Finally I slipped a very thin dowel behind the red grosgrain ribbon to hold it flat.

There are 7 total, one for each of my co-workers and the largest is about 14" square with the smallest about 10" square. The only things I had to buy were the panel and the felt as I had everything else, so they weren't too expensive. Some are a bit crooked as I washed the sizing out of the material and even tho I pulled it, it dried a bit crooked. Next time I'll re-wet if I have to. They went fairly quickly with just the drying time for the paints which took overnight.

I'll be delivering them later this afternoon. I chose each picture to match the personality/lifestyle of each person, so I'm hoping they like them. Everyone else just bakes cookies or makes candies for everyone in the office, but since I have the crafting gene, I figured they might like something lo-cal for a change. :o)

The rest of the banners are here:http://pics.livejournal.com/kenaiqueen/gallery/0003dx4t

I'm going to keep my eye out for some more of the panel type material lengths after Christmas and maybe try more or maybe a two-sided, quilted kind of hanger.
