Soldering Irons
Dec. 20th, 2010 09:15 pmHello fellow crafty people!
I'm looking to start soldering jewellery that I make but I don't know anything about soldering irons. I am doing some research online but thought I'd ask here if anyone has any preferences to make and wattage etc. The tip I'm hoping to get is 1/8", I believe that would be perfect for the tiny, and I mean tiny pieces that I work with. Some are 2mm in size, watch parts to be exact.
I'm also wondering about coloured solder as I use silver, gold/bronze and gunmetal coloured metal. I'm at the RioGrande site (found it via google looking for bronze colour solder) right now and getting a tad confused, haha. Go me!
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks so much!
The images of the butterfly pendants (last 5 photos) are what I want to solder.
IMAGE HEAVY!
The frames are 1"x1" and 1"x2" and the tallest butterfly pendant is 3".
