I'm expecting my second baby in a few months, and wanted to whip up some little clothes for him. Nothing fancy, just some gowns, pants, etc. When my older son was born, all the boy stuff was pretty ugly, and usually had a big football or something stupid on the front.

I bought mccalls 6235, but after cutting the pieces out, I think I'll have to make some modifications (the sleepsack has a zipper, snap placket, and a drawstring...overkill much?).

Has anyone used this pattern, and if so, did you make modifications? How was the sizing? The newborn size says for 8-12 lbs, and the pants pattern looks waaaaaay bigger than a pair of newborn pants I have here. I know the kid will eventually grow, but I'd like to have a few things on hand for when he comes home. My older son was swimming in newborn sizes for the first few months.

Also, anyone have an adorable pattern they've found and want to tell me about? I'm going for simple and easy basics here.

Thanks!
