Button covers, please?

I just got this cool little one-button blazer/ jacket thing, and I just got this idea that it would be great if it had a more interesting/ unique button. But then I thought, I wouldn't want to be stuck with just the one button. Is there a way to make a button cover? I don't have a sewing machine or anything (there are reasons I didn't continue as a fiber artist...!). I thought maybe some of you could help? Thanks a lot!
