Living room decoration
Apr. 24th, 2011 11:26 am I have had this spot on the wall by the front door in my living room for awhile now. It's where a wire is hanging from the wall where I took out the ADT system. I painted the wall, after texturing it with tissue paper first. I bought a little wooden box at A.C. Moore to cover the spot, rather than just getting rid of the wire and spackling over the spot, since I may re-install the ADT. My new paint is light green with salmon trim, which matches my chaise from a trift store that's salmon colored. I finally got around to finishing and putting up the box this weekend. Since my drapes have salmon and teal, along with light green and white stripes, I found some teal acrylic paint at JoAnn's (teal isn't the easiest shade to find) and painted the box, then used a piece of scrapbooking paper in colors that worked and added some dimensional elements that were in the dollar bin at JoAnn's. I mounted it with Command strips so the whole thing should be easy to change up if I get tired of it. Eventually, it's going to be joined by some hooks for dog leashes.
