repurposing bedsheets?
Jun. 14th, 2011 07:43 pmHi, all;
I accidentally spilled bleach on my favorite red 300-count bedsheets. My husband and I have had them for years, and they've been washed so much that they're super-soft. Now there's a big white blob the size of a grapefruit on both the flat and fitted sheet.
Needless to say, I feel very stupid. The man said to throw them away. I said no, I will use them as fabric for a project. I ran the stain under cold water immediately, then washed them and hung them on the line to dry. The stain didn't spread on either sheet, but it's still ugly: yellow at the edges, gray at the center.
Suggestions? Has anyone made clothing from old bedsheets? How did that work out for you?
Thanks in advance!
