I was at a loss as to what to do for my boyfriend's mother for a Christmas gift, so I ended up deciding on coasters. (Yes, I know, it's November. I'm actually almost done shopping and I have NO IDEA HOW OR WHY! I feel like an awful person rofl)
I'm a leatherworker, so I dug through some old Leather Crafter & Saddlers Journal to get the Pennsylvania Dutch pattern that I'd been wanting to play with, modified parts of and carved them inverted.
There are 6 coasters, 3 of each design. :)
I did bolder-than-normal color washes, and antiqued them in mahogany. The difference in color you see is because the kit leather is apparently from different parts of the same hide or different hides, since they absorbed it differently. No biggie. :)
They're sealed with wax to help them be water-repellent.
