Hi,

I've been looking at ads on craigslist as I try to find an older, metal body machine or any older machine, just for the sake of looking. My local craigslist has an ad for a Singer 5050C and an older 6812 that someone is selling. There are pictures and i thought having the model numbers would make it easy for me to find info online about the particulars for those models, but even on the Singer site, I can't find them. All I can find when googling are the manuals when what I am trying to find are the specs for the machines. Does anybody know of a good site for this kind of info? I tried typing the number of the newer machine in on the search option on the Singer site and it came back as nothing found. Argh. How does one search out info on older machine models? It shouldn't be this difficult, lol.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

ETA: Here's a couple model numbers I've been running across in case anyone knows about them:

Singer 6268 (free)
Taylor Professional Sewing Machine Model 934FB ($240) owner states this was for high school classes, I saw an eBay ad for one that gave some specifics. I think it has some type of serger function too.
Singer Touch and Sew 600e ($125) mid 60s, I think
Singer 5050C ($75)
Singer 6218 ($75)
Singer Athena 2000 with cabinet ($75)
Taylor Professional Sewing Machine Model 934FB ($200)
Viking Husqvarna Freesia 425 Model ($550)
Singer 1962 362 with table ($80) -- this one is probably an old workhorse with metal insides.
and from eBay, a National 15 Class zig zag machine (with a pic showing it can stitch through 6 layers of denim and several layers of vinyl!)

Thanks again!
