Folding fans: How to decorate?
Nov. 11th, 2011 05:45 pmHowdy all. I am having a destination wedding in April and thought that given the heat in Mexico, folding fans would make great wedding favours. I have seen several websites selling them for dirt cheap, and thought I would buy some paper or silk ones and paint on our names and the date.
As I am leaning towards the silk ones, the question is do I need to worry about paint spreading along the material, or anything like that? Paints generally don't like me so I only keep acrylics on hand (I occasionally paint warhammer models, or as posted previously, wings for my pets).
Would some sort of gel pens work better without bleeding?
Or would I be better off buying the paper ones?
Another option I've seen is to just put the lettering on the wooden spine of the fan... which might be easier, but I know paint bleeds in wood, too.
Help? :)
