Earring modification--clip-ons to posts?
May. 10th, 2012 12:29 pmHey grrls! Could you help me brainstorm ideas for turning a clip-on type earring into a "standard" earring? My friend came to me for help and I'm not quite sure.
This is the earring in question:

and she wants it changed to something like this one:

but it doesn't really matter how I go about it so long as it looks approximately like this:

The earrings in question are for a Sheryl Nome (Macross Frontier) cosplay-type outfit, but she also wants to wear them casually, so I'm thinking they need to be fairly sturdy and not too much of a pain to get on and off. Just putting the loop over the post-part might not work for her . . .
The easiest thing is probably to find a green stud earring like the one in the second picture--the kind that has a loopy thing for attaching stuff? I can't seem to find one on my own; do they have a special name? Any other ideas? Thanks a bunch!
