Costume accessories
Jul. 8th, 2012 03:37 pmNYCC is three months away, but I wanted to make some accessories for my costume because I'll more than likely wear my costume before it.
This is what it's going to be.
I'm having someone else make the costume, but I like crafting so I thought I would at least make the wristbands and the tiara, and voila!

To make the wristbands, I made the pattern, sewed four layers of cotton together, then decorated it with trim, an applique, and gems. It closes with a button. Around the gems is gold sparkly glue, but you can't see that in the photo. It looks way better in real life.
I'm pretty proud of how it came out, especially since the only sewing experience I have is a few home ec. classes from high school, and that was at least twelve years ago.
The teal gems on the tiara are actually green. The color didn't come out that well, but whatever. Still love how both items came out.
