I made this Cupcake Liner Storage jar out of dollar-store items. Believable? Hardly; but true. This project cost me about $10 to make, and about 10 minutes tops to put together. Read on to get the DIY instructions:
Cupcake Liner Storage
Items you will need:
- Large glass vase (Dollar Tree, $1)
- Small glass bowl (Dollar Tree, 3-pack for $1)
- Glass candlestick holder (Dollar Tree, $1)
- Glass knob (Menards, $4.50)
- Loctite Instant-Mix Epoxy, or any glass-bonding adhesive (Walmart, $3.50)
To begin, take any price stickers and residue off of the glass pieces. The last thing you want is to put it all together and realize you trapped a bar-code sticker under adhesive! Next, you should read through the instructions for the Loctite epoxy, or any other glue you will be using.
You will begin to glue pieces together. To start, flip the large vase so the bottom is up. Take the candlestick holder, and put the glue around the top edge.
Flip this candlestick holder upside down and adhere it to the center of the vase-bottom. Hold it in place for a minute, giving the glue time to set. Step aside and let it dry for at least five minutes. While you are waiting, you may move on and glue the next item.
Next, glue the knob to the bottom of the small bowl.
Again, let these items dry for at least five minutes each before you put any weight on the bond.
You now have the jar and lid! Fill with items such as cupcake liners, or decorative items. I am thinking of trying this with different sizes of vases, lids, and knobs. Get creative!
