I got married in June and made a lot of things myself. I wanted to share a few of them here.

This enamel brooch bouquet was my favourite project. I used brooches from my grandmother, friends, family, and thrift shops. It took a really long time to make and was very much a learning process. I posted a tutorial for how to make one with some after thoughts(if we're not allowed to share blog links please let me know and I'll remove it).

I made the banner in this photo (just pieces of fabric and lace tied around a long ribbon..there were a few of these in our reception area) and the frame with table cards. I wish I could take credit for the silhouettes, but those were custom made by someone on Etsy.

The frame is an old window frame from my home. I removed the glass and added nails to tie bakers twine around. I used miniature clothes pegs to attach each card. The cards themselves are just little tags with names and table numbers stamped on them, and a flower pin attached to each.

The flower pins took forever to make, but it was fun to see everyone wearing them during the reception. I posted a tutorial on how to make them.

My close friend and I designed and printed the invitations. They're very simple, but they fit the style of our wedding. My friend designed images just for us. My husband's favourites were little figures, one with a bird and one wearing a cape (our last names before the wedding were Crowe and Capes).

I made the Mr & Mrs banners to hang on our chairs. They are glitter letters hot glued to fringe. You can barely see it, but I made my own garter using lace ribbon, cute floral trim, and elastic. The ribbons at the bottom are another hanging banner. The rest is what went into our centerpieces. I layered a slice of a tree stump on top of a fabric square and a piece of burlap. On the tree slice I arranged vintage doilies, glass bottles and jars, and deer figurines.

There were lots of little things, like shoe painting, ring box decorating, flower girl basket decorating, flower arranging, sign painting, and photobooth prop making, but unfortunately we didn't end up with many pictures of the little details.

My husband and I loved having little hand made touches at our special day, which I'm sure this community can relate to!
