I made this monogram in paper mache and am putting a

Draw out your letter on paper.

Trace two letters onto corrugated cardboard and cut them out. I used a cardboard tray from a case of tomato tins that was destined for recycling.

Outline the edges of the letter using 2 inch wide strips of corrugated cardboard, taping it down as you go along. This is fiddly, but think about how this is costing you zero to make.

Like this.

Set the second cut out of your letter on top and tape it down.

To make the paste, I used a cup of flour and stirred in enough warm water to achieve a soupy creamy goop.
Cut up a bunch of strips of newspaper. Dunk one strip at a time into the paste, and remove excess goop by running the strips through your fingers.

Wrap the strips around your letter, I did about two layers.
Using thread, hang the letter to dry overnight and then paint. I used regular acrylic wall paint that I had on hand.
If you want to hang your monogram on the wall, just hot glue a soda can tab on the back.
