dog story!my youngest dog singlehandedly turned my oldest dog's collar (my absolute favorite collar of all time) into tiny shreds while momentarily (and i mean momentarily) unsupervised three/four months ago. i was heartbroken and money-broken so i macrame'ed her another out of hemp. it worked but wasn't the same. then a couple weeks ago i found a thrift store sewing machine from the 50's who is now my very best friend, though she has an appetite for expensive sewing notions and fabric. or maybe that's me. anyway, at wal-mart today i just noticed webbing and ribbon and ba-da-bing! inspiration. i made this collar for my lovely doggie. i reused her chewed collar's buckle/length adjustment hardware. it is like most store-bought dog collars--expanding or becoming smaller for size 18" to 24". the embroidered ribbon is simply stitched to the webbing. best part: hardware=free, webbing $1.50, ribbon $1.00.
