finally found a metal vendor that has sterling silver wire in the gauge that i need that isn't out of stock or charging an arm and a leg. ordered a few 50' lengths in 28ga, and a couple 30ga, and immediately started working with them.

28ga sterling silver wire with natural amethyst chips.
that was the first piece i did (another image here, though it looks a little squooshed) and also did another similarly styled one in garnet.
i picked up some of these in dark topaz last night, and think i might try working those with some copper wire.
niftiness in the last couple weeks has been two local shops taking my jewelry on consignment -- the elvehjem museum shop, and a small boutique up on our capitol square called savoir faire.
still looking for new ideas for designs -- i've spent most of the last week polishing an artist's statement, putting tags nd earring cards together, and working on the pointykitty.net site redesign.
if you've got ideas for pieces you'd like to see, i'm going to place a big order for materials from fire mountain gems soon. let me know if there's something youd like to see!
