Sorry if this is FAQ-ed, I did check the list but didn't see anything. I'd like to hear from people with xyron machines if they like them or not. I've been intrigued with them for awhile but I always forced myself to ignore them at Joann's because I'm always spending way too much money there.

Anyway, I was looking them up tonight and I discovered you can make magnets with them. If any of you have made magnets, how sturdy are they? Is the magnet basically paper on one side and a thin magnetic backing? Are stickers just paper with a sticky backing? Or is there some kind of laminating going on here as well?

I'd love to have one for crafts and I think I'd eventually like to try scrapbooking and it would definately come in handy then. But I was thinking that I may actually be able to justify this purchase for work. I'm a realtor, and I've been looking into a way of making magnets for my business cards, as well as small promotional stickers and such. Would the 510 machine work well for this? My main problem with ordering this stuff ready made is that they require that you to order a huge initial quantity and I'm just getting started and it would be better (and cheaper) to make small batches when I need them.

So I'm interested in your input on this machine. It's $45 on Joann.com with one adhesive roll, but I noticed that it's also on QVC.com for $55, but it comes with two adhesive rolls, a laminating roll, and the magnet roll. I've seen how expensive these rolls are so this seems like a much better deal.

Oh yeah, one more thing - how long are these rolls and how many average-sized (business card sized) stickers/magnets can you get on a roll?

Thank you!
