room decorating

hey guys, well now that my ex-hubby has moved out, i'm finally free to do my room how i want. it's a den, w/ brown wood walls. most of my stuff seems to be brown, black, blue or white. what are some good, cheap decorating tips? i saw on a site somewhere about decorating a dresser w/ stickers or something. i might do that to my bookshelf. HELP!
