curling stockinette

craftgrrlI already looked around but could not find the answer, so.....
Does anybody know how to keep the edges of stockinette from curling? I'm about to start knitting a hood onto a hoodie sweater and I do not want the edges to curl. The pattern actually called for curled cuffs and bands but i edited that out. The pattern is free from Lion Brand but I can't seem to find a link. I think it's A Family of Hooded Sweaters with Homespun yarn.
