Making furniture

Okay, here's the thing: I'm moving in a few weeks, and I need an armchair/chaise for my bedroom because I'm too snooty to just lounge on my bed and too nice to make my guests sit on the floor. ;)

Anybody have any input? Anybody else ever just thrown some stuff together and BOOM it was a chair? ANYTHING would be helpful. I'm not a carpenter, I have no power tools (but I could probably borrow some if need be), and I have a short attention span, so I don't really want to try anything that's going to take weeks to do. I'm thinking about starting with just a plain premade wood tabletop and upholstering it with some 8" foam and fun fabric, but I'm kind of at a loss for legs and arms/back.
