Aug. 23rd, 2003 10:10 pmLast night I bought Ed Emberley's Big Purple Drawing Book which includes a whole exciting section about drawing pirates. These are Shrinky-Dinked Ed Emberley pirates on a painted Ikea frame:

This is what I did with the sheet metal I posted about earlier. I took the advice and made a notebook from scratch. Of course, this is an Ed Emberley robot but I gave him a little heart on his chest. Think the Tin Man Tim Burton style. This is the front:

I embossed the image with a pen from the front of the metal, then washed the ink off and antiqued it. I tied the two sides together with hemp. I printed out lined paper from my computer. I have no use for another notebook but I am in love with my robot.
