Reading- and writing-related craft ideas?

My mom runs a publication for writers, Seasons For Writing, and we're trying to think of some new ideas for little items we could mail to contributers and subscribers who help out, or send new people our way...my mother has done things like order pencils with the publication's name on them, and sometimes we find nifty bookmarks or books to mail, but I thought it might be fun to make something. Any ideas for cheap (both to make, and to mail later on) and not too difficult bookmarks, or other things? It would be nice to get the name in, but it's not necessary...we just want to keep the item on a reading/writing theme...
