I'm new here. But I'd like to share some pictures of craft projects...and my messy kitchen! {or should I say "kitsch-en?"}
My office was throwing away some ugly artwork, so I snagged a picture with a decent frame. I gessoed and painted right over the old picture and matting with colors that matched things around my kitchen. I found a 1959 magazine ad for the first real sewing machine I ever had. It fit almost perfectly in the frame. Viola! Artwork on the cheap.

Ok, now here is a closeup of the sewing machine in the ad. I actually still own this machine, and it works great! The color is just so dreamy, don'tcha think?
Also, I have to show off the pink and green paisley curtains I made a few years ago. Used to live near a big Waverly outlet, where I bought the fabric. The sewing artwork matting is painted to match.

And of course there's my kitschy kitchen clock I got for $1.50 at the Goodwill. For some reason, everyone asks about it when they see my kitchen:</font>

And speaking of found treasures, these little china flowers make me so happy:

And if you like looking at clutter, here's a fanciful bulletin board I made from an old picture frame and a piece of ceiling tile wrapped in decorative paper. Really simple and fun project that is quite useful as well. Don't mind the pile of junk on the counter in front of it.
