I collect beads from around the world, and made this necklace using freshwater pearls, African silver spacers and glass beads from Indonesia, India and China.

Of craftworthy interest is this large Chinese bead, painted by hand from the inside with an intricate garden and pond scene.
Unfortunately this scan doesn't do it much justice.

[livejournal.com profile] juuudddyyy mentioned that there was a post related to making hair chopsticks previously in this community. I missed it! Anyone know where that post is??? I had previously thought about making hair pieces that are like hat pins but on a rod or chopstick.

i bought this really pretty bag, its like a small messenger bag and the strap is too short. i wanted to know if anyone had any ideas if i took a strap from another similar bag and put it on this one, how i would go about doing so?

also i don't have a sewing machine. and my sewing skills aren't "wonderful" but i really want to be able to use this bag.

help!

This is the first time I have posted in a community thinger, I am hoping this works. I'm new to the livejournal thang, though I have been avidly keeping up with this craftgrrl group for a few months now! How exciting to finally be able to post!

Knitting is my latest love these days, but I have dabbled in a lot of different crafts... soapmaking, collage and découpage, painting, printing, candlemaking, etc. And I have gotten some really awesome ideas from here, haha.

I made the hair chopstick thingies someone posted about here last week(?), they are HERE if you care to see. I look forward to talking to you all! :D

OH, has anyone tried the marble magnets with colored rocks?? The only ones I have seen are dark-ish blue ones at a pet store... 5 for a small bag... didn't want to waste my money until I've talked to the magnet masters (mistresses). Thanks!
