I heard that you can use liquid fabric starch to stick fabric to your walls, and it will peel right off when you want it to come down. Does anyone know anything about this? I'm looking for a way to dress up my residence room without making any permanent changes. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi. I'm Abby.
I just trimmed my spikey choker with lace using a glue gun. I am sooooo proud of myself... I've never done anything like that before.
It's itchy, but that's prolly just because it's lace... heh.
Also... I found some shiny colorful fabric (lame'?)... any ideas what I should do with it?

ok, i figured out how to post! Anyway, I have a few questions. Does anyone know where I can get those wooden handles for handbags? A lot of summer bags have them these days, they're wooden and shaped and a circle. I'm sure they must be sold somewhere, but where? Also, I saw this chick the other day at wawa wearing a plastic? cuff bracelet that snapped together, with photobooth pics inside, i askedher wear she got it and she said her friend made it, so if her friend made it i can make it, but i'm not sure if it was just lamenated with snaps put through it or if she bought the bracelet and added the photos. What do you all think?

For some reason, "Canvas" material doesn't come to mind. Can someone describe it for me? And, can I get canvas material at a craft store? Or do I have to go to a fabric store?

don't know if this will interest you guys but...

a few months ago i found this site and was inspired to form my own mail art group that would exchange stuff over a specific period of time. i've been too lazy up until now (ok i'm still lazy, but whatever) to do anything about it.

anyway, is anyone interested? go look at the page i linked to get an idea of what i'm talking about. the only requirement is that you have access to a scanner so you can send me a picture of whatever you receive in an exchange (i'm putting it all on a website, which i'm working on now. i'll post a link sometime soon. you also need to have some degree of commitment to the project, since it would be over a kinda long period of time (6 months? a year?). i guess each person would be expected to do at least 2-3 exchanges during the period. or something. i'm still trying to figure it all out. no talent required. (you should see the crap i make!) and of course, you get to keep everything you get in the mail. so yeah. this is a fun way to make stuff for your friends, fuck with the postal system, and be all dorky and creative. you should do it...

anyway, if anyone is interested, post a comment here with your email address or email me at ahhcobras@hotmail.com.

I think someone made a post like this a while ago, but I can't find it - sorry! :x

I've finally decided to invest in a sewing machine later this year. I sort of a novice... I took a sewing class in 7th grade, but I totally forgot how to operate it. All I know is press the pedal and go. I did make a pillow, though. Anyway, I saw some machines at Wal-Mart - they were all Brother brand machines. I don't know if that's a good brand or not (considering that it is Wal-Mart and all). Can anyone suggest a good starter machine for a beginner that (hopefully) is in the $250 or less price range? :)
