(crossposted to [livejournal.com profile] crochet)

I finally got around to scanning the pattern for the celtic knotwork afghan I'm doing.
For anyone interested, the link is http://www.angelfire.com/celeb/huntress/Knot1.jpg
And because it's angelfire, if you try to click through you're probably going to get a generic angelfire picture. You should probably copy and paste the url :)

brief intro and a question
Hi there, I just joined. Let's see... I like to make things, though mostly I don't deal too much with fabrics and yarns. I like collage, decoupage, painting, candle making. I like to make powdered incenses, bath salts, and essential oil blends. Soon, I want to try my hand at making books. This looks like a nifty community and I'm glad to have found it.

And the question...
Lately, I've become mesmerized by card board. I've been cutting up boxes and using the card board as a base for painting and collaging. The only problem is that everything I paint or glue or gel-medium onto cardboard tends to warp the cardboard or make it curl up. It's very annoying and doesn't make for very good postcards and paintings. Does anyone have any tricks for keeping card stock and cardboard flat as a base for collage or painting?

Thanks!

Okay this may be a vague question and if so excuse me but I really want to make journals. I have a ton of fabric i would love to see covered over a journal. So does anyone know how I do it? Do I make it as a binding and then insert pages or what? Im so lost and I think it would be a great idea for some things I wanna do. Can it even be done??

funnily enough i have accidenteally posted this in my journal 3 times

Did anyone see the From Martha's Home the other day that was all about baby projects? Showers, and gifts? She made a super cute terry towel changing pad and I'm wondering if anyone has a pattern for it or something like it. I looked on HGTV.com and marthastewart.com and didn't find anything.

It's a towel and matching fabric with pockets and a ribbon to tie it. It looks easy enough but I'd prefer to have a pattern.

thanks

Hi everyone :)

I think I remember seeing before.. some had posted here about.. I think it's called paper curling? You know.. where small strips of paper are curled and fixed to notecards and such. Does anyone have links on this technique they could share?

Also.. I am going to be away from my sweetie for two months, and I'd like to flood him with love letters. Any neat and nifty ideas to share for romance?

:D

Tomorrow, my friends and I are having a "fusion bead" party. Ya know, the little plastic beads that you put on trays in prettyful designs and then use an iron to melt them together? Yeah those. Hehe...pathetisad eh? We're gonna make some spiffy things! Woo! I dunno what I'm gonna make with them quite yet though...hm...
