a couple people asked me how i made it so I thought I'd post it. I'll try to explain anyways.

I took a peice of cloth, in this case denim from some old pants, and cut it to a length a little longer than what I'd need to fit around my wrist. then I sewed differednt colored buttons onto the cloth. I changed my thread on each button and used colored thread to make the color of each button I used. at one end I left bit of room. the denim that was sticking out on each side I pulled back and sewed together behind the back of the buttons, so as to prrevent the denim from fraying and such. then at the end where there was no button, I made a button hole! just big enough to slip a button through to keep the bracelet around my wrist!

I hope this all makes sense. it's hard for me to explain things over the internet without showing you.

someone also asked how I made the flower ones. I'm not sure I can explain that but if I do figure out how I'll post it later. :)

I'm going to decorate some Altoid Tins I've got saved up. I was wondering if there's any special paint I should use? And if I decide to decoupage them, what kind of glue do you use?

I'll be making these into magnetic needle savers, fyi. I'm tired of losing needles :)

Thanks in advance!

ok - so about 2 weeks ago i move into a dorm room..
my roommate is visiting family for the weekend so i've decided to take this opportunity to decorate. though i've dreamed for years and years about how i would decorate my first place... there's alot of things standing in my way that make decorating this space difficult:

- i have brick walls, which prevents me from hanging anything on them.
- we're not allowed to put any fabric on the walls
- i'm sharing the room with someone else.. so i can only design my side of the room.. but have to keep it fairly under the edge so it dosent totally clash with her stuff.
- i'm a poor college kid!!!
- there's no overhead lighting.. and the room in general is crazy dark..

those are just a few of the problems i can think of right now. if anyone has any ideas let me know! also - does anyone know of any product that's really strong sticky and will hold stuff onto the brick walls for the whole year - but then come off when i leave?

decorating dorm rooms is a pain in the ass.. but i want it to feel more like home here

thanks!

Hi gals :D

This little box I made for a friend caused quite a stir over at [livejournal.com profile] found_objects, so I thought I'd post it here as well:

Gotta love those Altoids tins!
