after having looked through my boyfriends closet yesterday, I realised that there were a lot thsirt I could customize for me.
usually, I just re-make them into my size, (what was referred to shrinking earlier in this community) but now I want to do something more fun, something more challenging.
anybody has a good tip on what to do except the regular glitter, glue and paint?
I've tried the "custom Heidi" thing but those shirts can't survive even one washing..

I'm not sure if this counts as "craft" or not, or if this will be amusing/useful to anyone here, but it's a fun activity to do around school election time anyway. I did this last year and it was FUN...
You will need:

  1. Frightening pictures of celebrities or just regular people/animals/food items/whatever, as long as they are UGLY. For my purposes, I started with a scary picture of Micheal Jackson that someone had and ended up stealing Charles Manson pictures from some kids' school project.

  2. Scissors to cut said pictures out.

  3. ANY kind of adhesive. I used brownie (this was spontaneous), you can use glue or tape.

  4. A school election ripe with campaign posters to ruin.

This is what you do... take picture, adhere over the picture of the person who's campaigning.
Now was that fun or what?

I have one large (well not large, but the average size) altoid tin, and two of the smaller tins.

What can I do with these? I have a few ideas but I would like some more.

I'd like to make them into small gift-like things, for friends.

All ideas are appreciated. :D

I saw what someone did with one, their name escapes me now, in this community, and wow.

Hi! I'm not really good with introductions, so this will be short and to the point.

I just joined a bunch of craft/decorating/homemaking communities (have been lurking for a while on yet more), and this is being crossposted to all of them. I don't have much spare time for crafts, but I have a long list of things I'd like to start soon, and figured these communities were a great place to look for inspiration.

Now to my first question: I am in the process of rearranging my living room. I will be moving the entertainment center to a wall with two off center windows. I have decided to hang fabric, floor to ceiling along that wall, and cover the windows. I've also opted to go with something dark and opaque. The sun shines nonstop in the living room from the moment it rises till the moment it sets, and I'd like as much of it blocked as possible. Do any of you have any suggestions as to what type of fabric would work for this? I wanted to use 90% shadecloth, but so far have had no luck finding it in any of the home improvment stores around here.

Hi :D Im new, so...!

America online has been sending out their cd's in neat little thin tins forever, so Ive managed to collect tons of them. Ive started painting them, but beyond that have NO idea what I could use them for, because they're so thin. The altoid tin's Ive seen here so far are AWESOME. Anyone have any ideas for maneuvering that into a muuuuch thinner compressed version? Or anyother ideas at all? So far, i've just painted them a solid color, and used them to mail letters. (You can write the address directly on the tin with a sharpie permi marker; tape the edges; plus 2 stamps.)

Also: I make homemade soaps, ;D. You can see them here. (They're all up for trade and sale, btw!). They're more or less pretty basic, and I was curious as to whether anyone has any other ideas, recipes, etc, for some other homemade bath products?
