my girlfriend and i recently moved in together and she brought along an ottoman that she received from her grandmother.

we love having it but it's this heinous brown leather. i want to make a slipcover for it but my sewing skills are *extremely* limited [i.e. i can hem my pants and sew bags, pillow cases, etc.]

how would one go about making a circular slipcover?

Does anyone know where I might be able to find supplies to make rosaries? I know there's that one special medallion that goes in the middle and then the crucifix.

Hey~I have about a yard square of this plastic stuff that people sometimes make bags out of. Does any one have any suggestions for what else I could make with it?

Also, I've been working on my new site: craftyteen and I was wondering if you guys could check it out and give me any suggestions and comments on it. Thanks!! =)

has anyone seen that new handheld-mini-sewing machine on tv? Its used for smaller things like heming and decoration. Has anyone used it too? I want to do some sewing but am a wee bit afraid of the big time sewing machines.
Thanks :)

*I am not the moderator, this is not an official request or warning in anyway.

I've noticed that a lot of people are posting pictures without using lj-cut tags, and I wanted to ask that people consider slow connections/computers, low screen resolution (the size of an image can throw off someone's friendpage) and just general polite behaviour in not taking up large quanities of friendspage real estate, when posting a large picture or multiple pictures. IME, people tend to remove themselves from a community if people continiously make posts which are taxing on their friendspage in this manner, and a lower number of community members translates into less participants to give you crafty ideas, and less people to help you with any crafty problems you might have!

It occured to me that perhaps this is, in part, because some people don't know how to use lj-cut tags. I've provided both a link to the faq, as well as the excerpt from the faq that regards the usage of the lj-cut tag, behind the lj-cut tag, since its a bit lengthy.
