I finally broke out the Mod Podge and decorated this journal 'cause I was bored tonight:

For anyone in the past who was interested in purchasing homemade soaps: Bath By Samia is now semi-up and semi-running. Check back frequently!

this week, i finished working on my part of a "clothing remix swap". each person who signed up was assigned a partner, then we sent our partners several items of clothing and random items (buttons, ribbons, puzzle pieces, small plastic toys, whatever!). the challenge was to turn them into something new, using ONLY what your partner sent, even the packing material in the box... here's how my part of it turned out.

it was a lot of fun to work on - something totally new for me. i thought it would be difficult to really start cutting up the clothes and modifying them (since i can't seem to do that with my own stuff!), but once i started, i felt free to go with the flow and see where the next cut or bit of sewing would take me.

i'll be interested to see what my partner did with my stuff!

first time i've posted here...

i was wondering if anyone has any ideas for making a dollar bill into a bracelet? weird request i know. i was thinking of maybe rolling it up and stringing it, but do you know of any sealer that would make it flexible?

I love the idea of sharing crafts and trading them! I’m new to this, but thought I’d post what I have for trade!

I’m willing to trade for almost anything. I’d love to trade for cd’s and jeans for my daughter and other things for my kids. So if you see anything you like - let me know!

I’m going to be putting up some more soaps soon!

So without further ado . . . Pandora's Barterings!

Jeans.

I was going through some of my boxes of fabric today and I realized I have a TON of small scrap pieces left. I am not a quilter so using them for a quilt is out. What do you use your scraps for? Any suggestions? I feel like it's such a waste to just throw the scraps out!

new icons.

I was feeling like sewing today, so I made a new scarf out of old scraps.

I'm drying a bunch of rose petals, and I'm wondering what I should add to them to make potpourri.

edit
I'm hoping for specific suggestions. What items do you think look/smell good when combined with rose?

I am determined to make a pleated skirt from green velvet. I realize that ironing velvet is a pain, and not the best idea, but does anyone have any suggestions on how to get i to look somewhat pleated? If worst comes to worst I'll just leave it as soft pleats, but I'd prefer they were at least somewhat crip. Any ideas? I'll post pics once I've done it.
