Hi. I'm new. I'm so happy to have found this community (cheesy-ness).

Questions.
- Has anyone ever tried making a skirt out of pants? I know the trend is over, but I'm just getting into it. I have a pair of old dickies with bleach stains, and I was wondering if anyone has ever made their own? Any tips peeps?

-Secondly, my aunt is insane with seed bead saftey pin jewlery. You know, the pins with a seen bead design on them. Does anyone know any web sites for patterns? She's making halloween ones and they are SOOO freaking cute.

I'd appreciate feedback. THANKS!

Yesterday, my boyfriend and I were driving along, at which point he informs me that we're going to a Halloween Party, and we both need a costume. And guess who got assigned costume duty? ;) So anyway, do you guys have any fabulous, original ideas for two people? Preferably something that wouldn't cost *too* much money to make.

Hi. I've been a member of this community for quite awhile, but I've never actually posted. I just sort of lurked around before. But anyways, lately I've been itching to learn how to crochet and/or knit. Does anybody have any suggestions on any good books or websites that I could look at that would be helpful? ...Even some tips for someone would be a great help. Thanks a lot :)

last tuesday was my birthday and my friends got me the best present of all....
a vintage singer 237 sewing machine.
yeah it's nerdy but it is the one and only thing i ever could have wished for.
and i thought you girls would be equally excited :)

i got a bunch of other cool stuff too: an all veggie cookbook and a cute little bamboo plant.

anyways, i went on a craft store shopping spree today [yep, definitely spent $50] and i got tons of stuff.

also, i made my first sewing machine project the other night! a grocery bag holder!
haha...kinda lame but we really needed one.

anyways...check it all out:

pictures of all the stuff i was just talking about [beware: there's a lot] )

there you have it. feel free to comment on any of it. ha.
or just look. yeah shitloads of pictures :)

I won't take her stock advice, but hey she has some pretty nifty ideas.

Now... how do I add scent to that?

She also has a list if you fool around for a whole bunch of craft ideas. Some of the ideas go out on a limb. The materials she occasionally uses are pretty costly and you have to really go searching around to find them. I envy that bitch.
