a gorgeous pendant by my extremely talented pal [livejournal.com profile] violetmoonwater, who sent it to me in exchange for a little silver pendant i sent her which you can see here )

and she even sent it to me in a gorgeous little box decorated with another of her beautiful charms! she is so talented and i'd LOVE to learn how to do what she does - it gives me so many ideas! definitely check out her website and buy some stuff! you'll be glad you did. :)

What sort of spray adhesive/glue would be good for gluing cloth to paper/cardboard?
I am personalizing a notepad with plain white paper inside and trying to attach a army print cloth to cover the outside (make sense?).
Also, I want to do some potato stamping on the pages to personalize them but worry that the paint will make the pages all wrinkly..any recommendations?
Thanks girls!

Hi Girls -

I have finally (finally) started this project I've been meaning to do forever where I'm Mod Podgeing newsclippings on the surface of my dining room table. It's going very well so far. The part that I'm unsure about is the final sealing. From what I understand, polyacrylic will coat on thicker, but polyurethane will coat on more evenly. I want it to be thick *and* even, as this is still my dining room table after all; it does see plenty of action and I want to make sure the collage is safe underneath.

Any ideas or votes either way?

i've been a domestic MACHINE this weekend. it was all about cooking and crafting yesterday.

I had dropped a knitting needle and the paint chipped at the end, so it kept lightly snagging my yarn. That was just unacceptable, so I painted the end with nail polish. It took a few layers, but the needle is good again. I've also used nail polish for my favourite crochet hook - the chrome finish had worn away - and on old chipped toy cars for my son. Orange and yellow blend reasonably well to make 'construction truck yellow.' :)

i have a tendancy to keep burnt out lightbulbs. i have one hanging from a piece of wire over my desk, and i have one that is on the head of a robot that i made. i have also heard that you can fill them with cement, let it dry, then break the lightbulb so you have a nice piece of cement shaped like a lightbulb. but being that i have a lack of cement.. does anyone know what else one could do with lightbulbs? it'd be pretty cool if i could substitute the little things on top of bedposts (finials?) with them, but i'm not sure how that would work.

also, some people gave me the idea of making pins out of my keyboard keys, which i thought was really cool. from that, i got the idea to make pins out of bottle caps (another thing i have an excess of). i haven't made any yet, but i thought i'd share the idea.

it's homecoming this week at my school and we've got spirit week. the days are: space day, urban usa day (ghetto), pirates day, 80s day, and red and white (seniors dress up) day. anyways. i didnt really want to dress up like an alien tommorow or wrap myself in tinfoil.. so i remembered this quote i read once that said "if you need space join NASA baby" so i was like i should SO put that on a shirt and wear it. so i went to walmart and picked up some white tees and iron on letters, and sparkly blue fabric paint. then i made it say babe instead of baby so i dont sound like im hitting on everyone and being slutty heh.
then i outlined the worlds "space" and "nasa" with the blue and put stars in random places. right now its drying. its supposed to dry flat for 24 hours but i'm putting it on 12 hours later. so haha. i'll take a picture of it tommorow after i wear it and post and stuff. peeeeice.

is the brand pony originally from the 80s?

and in other questions:

i have entirely too many plain white tanktops and tshirts. (i buy them in packs of three from the mens department) does anyone have any ideas what i could do with some of these?

thanks!
