I need someone to teach me how to knit properly.
I don't do very well with sketches and written directions when it comes to knitting.
I learned to crochet when I was 5 but I never got passed making simple blankets and scarves.
I have tons of yarn and I would love to knit hat and mitten sets for x-mas gifts this year...
Anyone in the Boston, Ma area wanna teach me :)

*big smile*

E-mail Me and let me know....

So I've been around here for a while now, commenting and reading, but this is my first post. I figure it's about time! I made this clock for my friend cause she loves stegos and she needed a clock. (what a perfect combination!!)

I'm looking at making a brunch-basket for a friend for her wedding: some jam, pancake mix in a jar (homemade), some maple syrup, coffee, that kind of thing, and I'm trying to figure out what I'm missing to put in it. I was going to try and find a decent large mixing bowl to put it in and line it with teatowels...
Any suggestions?

hi! i'm new here. i've been a
lurker for a while though. you guys
do awesome crafts. i wish i was as talented.
i do mostly decopauge and collaging. i used
to cross stich and i learned to crochet a
while ago, yet don't keep up. i really want
to learn to knit.

i have a queue for all of you (rhyming is fun)
i live in nyc and i've been looking all over
for iron on transfer letter to make t-shirts.
i tried pearl paint yesturday and no luck. the
guy there sort of led me on and drew me to
the fourth floor and i asked there and the guy
there gave me a no.
so i was wondering if any of you know where i can
find some, preferably no too far uptown or on
long island? any help would be greatly
appreciated.

I remember someone was asking about vintage fabrics here a while ago. If you haven't already, check this out.

Also, I really like the jewelry at http://naughtysecretaryclub.com/ but I'm broke. Is there an easy way to make my own? I know certain resin processes can be very toxic. Thanks!

My mom recently came into the posession of a singer sewing machine, and it is from the 1950's.now,we already have a sewing machine,so we took it into a repair shop, and had it fixed and I put it up on gothauctions.com.if anyone is interested, please comment, and tell me how much you would be willing to pay for it,and i'll be more than happy to take it off my auction list.the sewing machine is now in mint condition, and beings its an antique,i am probably going to ask for nothing less than 50.00..

I was thinking... crazy I know... Lately I have been seeing a lot of stuff on snail mail & pen pals and the lost art of letter writing. Considering I have seen several of these things in the last week I am thinking maybe I need to get involved with something like that. I looked at some of the LJ groups for pen pals and package trades etc. But frankly.. the variety of people and interests can be mind boggling. I would much rather find someone in a community that I am already a part of with people who I know are interested in similar things to me. so... I am posting here to anyone interested. Please check out my profile and see if we have stuff in common and email me if you are interested in writing. I know this is sort of off topic but only a little since creative letter writing is definitely a craft ;)

SERIOUSLY!

I can do every fucking stitch in cross-stitching VERY well, except french knots!!!.

I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM!!!

I hate how I'll have this LOVELY project almost done and then my ugly awful french knots just FUCK UP EVERYTHING!

ARGHHH!!! I just THREW the little Christmas ornament I'm working on to the ground because the buttons on the toy soldier's jacket were driving me so crazy that I wanted to RIP MY OWN PROJECT TO SHREDS!

YAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm new around here. I work in a fabric n' craft store, and I know how to do everything that we sell except.knitting.

I was hoping someone in here could lead me to a website or a book or SOMETHING that will teach me how.

I know the easiest way is just to have someone sit down and teach you, but the only people in my store who know how to knit are very old and strange (if they weren't strange, I'd just ask them to teach me, let's not be ageist here).

ANYHOW, unless someone in Chicago is willing to teach me how to knit, could someone please recommend a website or something? I just want to learn how to make cute hats n' mittens n' stuff.

Okay, thanks.

PS: I've calmed down CONSIDERABLY since my ranting about French Knots... I think I'd just been sitting in one spot and cross-stitching for far too long...

Does anyone have decorative wooden boxes that they have decoarated? I want to see some pix and get some ideas.

Thanks to all the people with the decopauge comments. It was my first decopauge, and it came out like crap cause I added way too many layers... but that hasnt stopped me from doing more! I appreciated all the comments, it really helped.

givin out some *community luv*
