Hi everyone,

I thought I'd start a post to share all of our creativity for the upcoming holiday. Maybe we can get some new ideas!

This year I'm making the decoupage cans/banks with children's cartoon images for all the kids. I'm hoping to fill these with marble magnets for lockers, and other goodies.

Father in law is getting marble push pins with his business logo, moms are receiving marble magnets with cute words and pics to use for their grandbabies pics on the fridge.

My kids are all getting a crocheted hat from mama, and everyone around will get a crocheted glass ball ornament as well. The teeny size ones that is ;) All of my friends will get an egg ornament, with an image to reflect who they are.

This year has been vowed to be an inexpensive and creative year, so I'm hoping it will be! Lets hear your ideas!

in terms of Christmas gifts - it's going to be all hand made this year baby!

And that's for two reasons:

Main one being that I'm living in the branches of the po' tree right now. No money for me.

Second reason is that I feel a lot of my creativity is basically screaming to come out in the next month and a half and it needs be released on some Christmas goodies.

I have many ideas, but my main projects will most likely be the Gift Jars that are all the rage this season. (Click here for some more info - it's a great website!)

I'm also going to decoupage to my little heart's content. I plan on visiting some thrift stores this weekend and pick up anthing from old frames, books, jewerly, shoes, containers, etc, etc, and unleash that damn creativity demon.

Possibly pick up a batch of Altoids tins as well to store things like jewelry, charms, and glitter packs. I'm also really keen on the soap and candle making fun that you all are fond of, and perhaps make soap/candle baskets.

I'm also going to make some mix CDs and bake stuff. If I could crochet, sew, or knit, I'm sure that would come in handy as well, but alas, I'm a poor pathetic city girl w/ no sewing machine and basically no skills.

Michael's will be my best my friend this year.

And I have a question for y'all...

Any ideas on what to make for Hanukah gifts? You all are so smart and unique, I know some of you have some great ideas out there.

I posted a pic of a bracelet I made last night and, because of the lighting, a few people thought the silver beads were pink. Here is what the bracelet actually looks like........this time I took the pic outside!

Since everyone's all into soapmaking now, it seems like a good time to ask my question. Ok, well, I started making soap last year, and I haven't really done it for a long time. Basically because the soap was just kinda gross! Even with scents it smells pretty bad, has no lather, and doesn't give a "clean" feeling when I used it. I bought all my stuff at Micahel's, the glycerin, scents and dyes. You all seem to have been using the same stuff. Am I doing something wrong? Please help! I really want to make soaps for gifts this year. Thanks!

Does anyone know any good Gingerbread cookie recipies? Also I'm looking for the icing and any cool designs or decorations to put on it.

The gift jars are a fabulous idea!

So I was thinking of taking glass bottles, taking off the labels, and gluing some pictures on them, and I was wondering if I just painted a thin layer of regular Elmer's glue over them would that keep? When I used ModPodge before, which everyone here is always talking about, it seemed just like glue. Besides, I can't find the bottle of ModPodge, but I know where my glue is...

I just finished the earrings in this set. I love the way it all turned out. I have been wanting to do something with the little wire cage things for a while now, and finally gave in and got them. Let me know what you think.
