I just taught myself to crochet and want to make this throw blanket. The directions say to single crochet through back loops only. What does through back loops only mean? How is that different from typical single crochet?

Thanks for you help!

hello all!
i'm made a collage out of photos from magazines for my friend's birthday and glued them all down on a piece of construction paper. my only problem is that when i decoupaged over the whole thing, the edges of the construction paper curled. any ideas on what i can to to make them not curl? i'd frame it, but that would cost way too much for my poor self to ship. all and any help is muchly appreciated!

In a past episode of WYWO(last week's i think) where they decorated this guy's den in the style of a 50s diner, they made a table/shelf in which they arranged cars and plates and they poured in this clear liquid that they said levels off by itself and dries perfectly clear and solid. What was that? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Where can I get it? What else can I use it to make?

thanx!

i have a musician friend with a birthday coming up...i'm wondering what i could make him that wouldn't be too costly..something not too big or intricate, but something a musician could use nonetheless. ugh, guys are so tough! thanks!

I finally got my very first ever crochet project done the other day, and I give credit to this great community. It not only gave me the kitty hat pattern in the first place, but the crafty discussion kept me going all the way through. Thanks, grrls!

Aside from that, I've been making record bowls like a madwoman. There was a lot of uncertainty about my Yule and Xmas seasons this year, and those bowls saved me big time! They were perfect presents, and some of them have been useful to me as well. As of today, my jade plant lives in Fleetwood Mac's Rumors, while my aloe vera has found a home in A Tijuana Christmas. The boxes, which I don't hear as much about, have turned out every bit as well, and bowl/box sets have made some very nice gifts.

I'm planning a mini-shrine to the Goddess made out of a Penguin Mint tin, and a decoupaged noteboard with Peyo's Smurfs comics. I just wish I could get photos of some of this productivity to show you all.
