hi I am new to this community but I am quite the crafty girl, I mostly do things with mod podge, but I am intrested in going into sewing and etc. I actually have a business in the makes with my friends called the Modge Podge Broads where we sell things we have modged podged. I thought I would introduce myself before I started commenting on peoples post.

I like to collage/decoupage onto AOL CDs. I use glue stick to paste the images down and then I mod-podge over the whole thing. Problem is that I collage up to the very edge of the CD, and I can't get the paper to lie flat there. Any tips on how to make this happen or how to hide the problem?

I've been in the cross stitching mood lately. I looked for a pattern that was easy and could be stitched up in an afternoon, yesterday out of boredom.

i'm using someone's idea, i can't remember their livejournal name.
but i'm going to be making anti-war cds.
(thank you for posting your idea! it's fantastic)

i'm going to be making sewn sacks for the cds to go in (or something of that nature) and making little pamphlets with lyrics and anti war literature.

anyone know where i'd be able to find contemporary anti-war literature that really catches your eye.

instead of the "blah blah blah. we shouldn't do it because. because. because."
you know?

thank you very much.

Do you think I could make either of these? I mean, I'm sure it's possible, but does anybody have any ideas on how, or how difficult it would be? Thanks in advance.

hey everybody!

ok, so that time again is coming up, the time for ::gasp:: to get a swim suit. so I went to the mall and well all they had (out here that is) is skanky 2 pieces that are pretty much non existent or 1 piece that is so frumpy/huge that it looks like it crawled out of the gutter kind of suits. So I didn't find one I liked.

So my crafty side started to creep up on me again, and well the thought of making a swimsuit right now sounds ultra cool. So anyone make one before? I looked for patterns but not much luck and I looked on the internet but I can't find anything but crochet patterns so anyone know how to go abouts to make one?

I was thinking not a one piece, and not a bikini... maybe more along the lines of a tankini. so any pattern suggestions? where to buy these patterns, what fabric to use, and what kind of needle to use such and such.

if you can help, you will make my summer so much cooler :)

toodles!

OKay, well, I was a bit inspired yesterday night with chatting and looking at duct-tape fashion sites and stuff... So, I started watching Indy Jones III and played with duct tape and clear plastic; =P

My cell phone has a brand new little bag. ^_~ It doesn't look too pretty, but it'll be a good use, protects it from dust and scatches and I don't have to remove the phone from it to operate it, thanks to the clear plastic. :)
(and I even made a little hole in the bottom for the recharger cable) :D

Hey, knitting divas...

I've got myself some roving, and I'm at a loss as to what to do with it. I bought it because it's so beautiful, but I don't have a clue how to work with it.

It's pure five-strand wool and it's gorgeous, but it's really, REALLY weak. It pulls apart easier than a cotton ball would. Does it strengthen once it's knitted? Do I knit all five strands together? Pulling them apart seems impossible.

Anyone else ever used it before?
