in my life it seems that something good must always end with something bad. i had an amazing february break out in calgary at my brothers. i come home today to find out that a good friend of mine is in the hospital with some kind of problem. i've known he's been sick for the past six months or so, and the doctors don't know what he has. they've tested for everything except cancer, and now that is next. i haven't seen him since august and it is so hard to be this far away from him and now do anything. it's a four day drive to see him, and i could never convince my parents of that. his brother told me he needs some cheering up really badly, so i want to mail him something to make him smile. i thought i could turn to the crafty community for some advice.

ok i figured out the ultimate 1 year gift for m boifriend!!!

i'm going to make an altered book =) to find out more about what that is you can look here or here. anyhow the issue here is that i've not got enough money, nor resources, for supplies. i've gone through all my magazines, boxes of cards, unwanted books, etc. for some reason the found things in my magazines were like two pages. and too bad for me i threw away all those huge bridal mags a year ago. beh. well here's a list of what i need...
cutouts [from mags, cards, books] of:
red, pink, white or blue flowers
red, pink, white or blue hearts
red, pink, white or blue stars
couples
love in several languages
french print [like text from a french book]
cupids
anything else you find involving love.

scraps of ribbon or paper in red, pink, white or blue
stickers
whatever else you think of.

i know this is a bit to ask but most things should fit in a legal envelope and only take one stamp so hopefully some of you will help me out. please send everything to:
star morris
PO Box 16143
Asheville, NC 28816

THANK YOU!

I just made my first lightswitch cover. You can't tell, but the white blur at the top is a white rose. I got this picture from an ad out of an old Vanity Fair magazine.

I apologize in advance for asking a question I should be able to figure out myself, but I truly have tried and gotten nowhere. Could someone tell me the skwairpeg version of how to post pictures? Do I have to have them somewhere else on the web in order to post them here? I thought I could just upload them and insert them where I want them, but it seems to be more complicated than that.

I wanted to show the bag I made today! Boohoo! I'm not usually a helpless boob, but I'm not too experienced with this sort of thang. Sorry...

I won a The Donnas wristband just a while ago from their site, and it's really pretty :

The pink part [the texts] is kinda flaking off. As you can see, it's that plastic-ish whatever it is you call it [if someone can tell me what it's called, that'd be great.]

Can someone help me?! What can I do to prevent it from coming off? I don't wanna lose the words and leave it just as a orange-yellow wristband. That'd be meaningless =(

Thanks in advance XD

yes, i'm very slow, and I have JASC paint shop pro 7, and I was wondering on how you make collages of pictures?? Just pictures next to each other, just a simple one.

Thanx for all who reply.

Hi everyone!
i'm new here! this seems like an interesting/fun community, i'm glad I found you guys.

I like digging into sale racks/bins, mostly buying things I would never use/wear, then fixing them up into something I love. anyway..just wanted to say Hi! :)

hmm, what can i do to fill up the space on my wall besides painting? My mom feels me painting designs on my wall will either make me do a mistake and just paint it over, or make a big mess everywhere.

I'm trying to do a kinda retro feel. Around maybe the 40s and 50s also, I have no job, so anything cheap I can get?

Thanx to any suggestions!
