Hi! In the Feb. 2003 Martha Stewart Living, she does this big spread on Knitting 101. There's a scarf in there, soft white with a teeny tiny blue thread running through it - have any of you seen it? I'm desperate to find the wool used for that scarf, but all of my internet searches are coming up empty. I'm not much of a knitter - that's my mom's job - but I thought maybe some of you knitting enthusiasts would know where to look.

Thanks!

my sister's dog died yesterday, and I want to send her a care package for grieving. I figured I'd include a box of kleenex, her favorite cookies, and maybe scrapbooking supplies to record memories and store pictures.

does anyone have any other ideas of things I can include? what do you like to have around when you're sad?

I made this hat in a couple days and I don't really know how to crochet and I just guess so it's a miracle it turned out. So I borrowed my boyfriend's digital camera and got to an image hosting site and I hope this works. Come see... )
The question I have is that I started a scarf with the same multi-colored yarn but I'm about to run out. What do you guys suggest? It has this neat criss cross pattern going on (I'd show you but the camera's battery has recently died) and I don't really want to buy more of the same yarn because then I'll just have tons left over. Would a dark blue half look good if I put some matching accents on the hat(since I already have blue, and I don't have the money for lots of yarn)? Like a stripe? Or does anyone have some left overs of RedHeart multi-colred yarn that I could pay for shipping on?

Thanks for anyone with answers.

It didn't work. I'm using seemesmile.com. Does anyone know what I did wrong?

I found this wonderful, fluffly yarn at Wal-mart last night and being obsessive little me I bought a bunch. I want to make one of those hats with the ear flaps and everything but I don't know what size needles to use. Does anyone have any idea/pattern that I could consult? Thanx in advance.

I'm on the hunt for plastic shopping bags, specifically those that are black and/or red.

I'm going to cut them up and crochet a whole new bag out of them, and I need a LOT of them to do it with.

If you'll leave a comment here to let me know if you have some you would like to donate to the cause we can figure out how to get the lovely bags to me. If you are far away I will pay you back for postage.

Thank you very much.

does anyone know how to make these boxes?

i wanna knoooooow. i guess i can try to figure it out myself..but i'd prefer to have instructions seeing as i'll probly screw them up royally without them, as opposed to semi-royally screwed up if i had instructions. :-P

i made a decorated a tin for a friend's birthday gift using tissue paper. however, the bulk of the paper has now made it impossible to put the lid of the tin all the way on. i'd leave the top off, but it's kind of an integral part of the piece. the entire thing has already been sealed and it needs to be ready for my parents to ship tomorrow. so, yeah, talk about last minute. any suggestions? anyone?

i've been commissioned to make the invitations for my cousin's wedding, which i also did for my brother's wedding last october. my question is, does anyone know where is a good (meaning *cheap*) place to buy envelopes? before, i bought them at michael's, and i ended up paying more for them than for the rest of the invitations (and the invitations were pretty elaborate, so to spend that much on just the envelopes killed me).

any help would be appreciated!

I'm pretty new to crocheting, but I really want to try this pattern. The trouble is, I'm not sure I fully understand it.

Actually, I'm fine right up to where it says "Continue following pattern", where I get confused. Why do I chain 829 if the pattern itself is only 280 wide? Is the only stitch involved DC? I don't really get it!

Obviously, I need help. So in the absence of a therapist, I want to figure out how to crochet a dragon. ^__^
