i'm very into beading recently for some reason. turns out i've got a crapload of beads from my raving days [extras in a box plus bracelets i got], lots of nice power bead bracelets [turqoise, hematite, rose quartz], and many seed beads from random bought broken jewelry. anyhow on with what i wanna ask. i can make hemp jewelry, no problem. i can make safety pin bracelets. i can make most of your run of the mill "oh isn't that cute' stuff. i need inspiration. i need guides. i need whatever you can give me. i looked through the faq but nothing really caught my eye. help??

Hi everyone,

To see a once-ugly old chair I found at a flea market: 5 dolla chair!

All I did was clean it up, sand it a bit, basecoat it and paint pretty things, and then seal it with clear acrylic. It's a surprise for my stepdaughter Dottie.

And here's a little box I decorated: clicky I mod-podged the lid and lined the inside of the box with felt. I need to think of something that will make a nice trim around the inside where I glued the felt in. Any idears?

I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. I'm trying to put links to pages on my website so ya'll can view my crafty things and shower me with praise, and the links aren't working. I used to just copy and paste the url here and that always seemed to work. I'll try that. If it doesn't work, can someone explain why?

I'll just try one of the links for now: http://www.skwairpeg.com/craft%20page%20links/zebra%20box.htm

Okay, that links works on my end. I'll try the other one now: http://www.skwairpeg.com/craft%20page%20links/Dotties%20Chair.htm

I think I had something named incorrectly.

i think i never posted in here... so HELLO! I'm not completely new, I just didn't have a lot to share :)

love this community. it's making me happy. i'm in the process of learning how to become the Queen of Knitting, but all I got so far is a scarf :)

i am making little bags, but my sewingmachine just broke down. (the horror)

anyway.. i saw a girl wear a cute watch with beads instead of the plain-ol-leather. i've seen them in shops but they weren't my kind of beads. how would you go and make the dreamiest watch with beads ever made?

ok, so being broke doesnt mean i still dont salivate over fashion.
so it really hurts that i can spend dispensable income on clothes...well because there is no dispensable income...heck there aint no income.

so desperate times call for desperate measures.

I made these coasters last night for my friend's new apartment
they didn't turn out totally fabulous, but I still think they're cute and I'll just pretend the flaws give them character.

I'm so hip )

I have learned a valuable lesson today. Apparently you should not put your finger underneath the sewing machine needle when it is running.

I'm still not sure what happened, except that one minute I was sewing and the next I was removing a broken needle from both the top and bottom of my finger. I'm just happy that it didn't hit a bone.

I think maybe I shouldn't sew unsupervised.

I want to make a travel candle for my boyfriend, who will soon be going on a six month camping trip over the Appalacian Trail. Boo :-(. So I have my Altoid tins and I'm going to prime and paint them and stuff. I figured I would use tea lights.

However, those suckers will burn down quickly and I want to be able to replace them. But I also don't want the candles to be simply placed inside without any support. He will NOT be able to do anything crafty out there. So far I had thought of using epoxy, but obviously that won't do. I had also thought of gluing clothing snaps inside the tin and to the candle, but again, that won't be a good idea because he won't be able to affix a new snap to the underside of a tea light. The last thing I thought of was some kind of rubber gasket, so he could pop the candle in. Does anyone have any ideas?

I went to my local craft store today and bought this vogue paper pattern

i bought it in the wrong size though. It's pattern 2472 , in size 12-14-16
More details below:
http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/voguepatterns/shop.cgi?s.item.2472=x&TI=
I bought it for $5.80usd , so i was wondering if anyone wants it? It's brand new and unopened.
Shipping from singapore will be about $1.50 (i'll pay for the extra costs)
I'll trade for patterns in size 10 or just show me your list of what you have.
