Hi, I think this is my first post, but I looove this community.

I need your guys' help!
I do floral arrangements and such. My bigger/taller flowers are currently residing in an old wastebasket that has a crack in it. (Though it's overflowing because I need to do more work, instead of just collecting!!) This actually works okay, except somethings get tangly because of crowding.

The problem is shorter/smaller/more delicate flowers. Right now, I'm using some shallow plastic baskets that I already have, but I don't care for them because I can't see everything and tangling is really bad. I'd thought of using jars, or maybe something like recycling some margarine containers, but none I have seem quite right. They're too shallow, or too deep, the opening's too narrow/wide, too lightweight, etc.

So, fellow craftgrrls, do y'all have any ideas? I don't mind recycling, and am handy enough to construct something (or find help doing such).

i used a pattern from Horas R. Goodhue's "Indian Beadweaving Patterns" with a few modifications, like the ruffly edging...i honestly cannot remember what the pattern is called though, lol...sorry about that.

i think beading is crafty, right?

This might be a strange request, but I wonder if you can spare some empty tea bags wraps for me? I am using them to make collages, but it is nice with different ones, and I have to buy so much tea to get that many different. It doesn't matter how they look! Thank you! :o)

This is what I mean: tea bag wraps

So I moved in recently to an older apartment with lots of peeling paint, etc... The chipped paint is worst in the bathroom, which is rather dismal and dreary looking, despite lots of cleaning to get the grime off. I don't feel like painting -- I'm not even sure my landlord allows it -- so a quick solution was to cover some of the woodwork with cotton fabric that was soaked in liquid fabric starch. It's easy to put up and easy to remove/redo. I used this technique to cover up some areas on my bathroom cabinet. The wood is still pretty yucky, but the fabric treatment certainly perks it up. There are some panels below that don't show on the picture where I also placed the same fabric. Anyway, it will do for now and it was fun.

I've been googling all afternoon, and have not come up with anything. I was hoping one of you crafty grrls might have some experience with this.

I have a bunch of small(ish) mirrors that I have been trying to come up with an idea for. What I'd really like to do is just make one large mirror out of them. I think the different sizes and heights, along with the fact that some are beveled while others aren't, would make for an interesting (if not terrible usable) mirror.

However ... I have nowhere near enough to make the size I'm thinking of. But what I do have is a pile of old empty make-up compacts (pack-rat, anyone?) that all have mirrors just like what I need.

I have tried prying them out -- no good. too many of them break.

I tried hot water, in hopes of melting the glue enough. no good -- i have not been able to even so much as soften the glue, no matter how hot the water is.

So, does anyone have any experience with this? or any ideas that I haven't come up with yet? I'll be happy to share the pics once the project is complete. :-D

hey, i've been a lurker for a while now, but it's definitely time i posted.

i'm home from college for the summer, and i need projects! at school, i usually relax by painting IKEA unfinished picture frames. they come out awesome, and you can never have enough frames. plus, they make great gifts. so this week i went to michaels and bought a small cradle (for dolls) and painted it. it only took a day. :( i need something to occupy me! (preferably cheap). i was thinking of learning knitting, or something else.

any suggestions???

Does anyone know where I can get something to print out to make magnetic poetry.
Like a list that has already been thought up, because I am super lazy!

My best friend just got the car she has always wanted (purple mustang)
I'm happy for her and she's ecstatic and i was trying to think of something cute that i could make as a sort of car warming gift. Maybe something for the rearview mirror. possibly mustang related. Any ideas?
