I had a cute little bead-flower bracelet, and I decided to do one matching my greenish top, too. :) So I examined the pattern a bit and here's the result:

It is simple, but looks very cute. And I made instructions for people, too, since I was a little bored ;) Have fun.

so i have a bunch of theese REALLY COOL interview with the vampire compic books. the thing is i havnt looked at them in like 5 years and im not particularly attached to them but there is some really cool artwork in them. so i was thinking of cutting them up and using them on things. i already sell knitted things, and other crafty stuff but i have no idea what i could do with theese. i dont really have any money to spend on stuff to put them on (i was thinking little boxes or something but i really cant afford that) so are there any bright ideas for things i can decorate with lestat, louis, and claudia?

Any crafty gals in columbus ohio, I set up [livejournal.com profile] columbus_sewing for a "sewing circle" with us meeting like every other week or such at someone's house who provides a brunch and we craft!

hi everybody
i have one quick question. i just got these glass containers for my kitchen and they are are a butt ugly brown ( from the 70's). I've heard of a paint that you spray on glass but dont know where to find it. is there such a thing and does it really work. i looked through the f.a.q's and didnt see anything about this but let me know if it is.
thanks

Hey!
thsi is my first post, and i thought i'd share an idea my friend had.
See, my two friends, Sean and Greg, are both major computer people. and, having a splurge of creativity one day, gutted out an old, flat-bottomed monitor of all its insides (not exactly sure how he did it) but he fitted a fish tank inside of it. It looks uber rad.

It is in my plans to do this at some point, as soon as i can get my hands on a flat-bottomed monitor and a proper-sized fishtank.

Me again.
Okay, this time i need advice and ideas.

A: I have a massive stack of old magazines and cutouts lying around. They have all seen their fair share of cutouts, collages, the like.
Problem is, i am feeling mighty creative today. and they are the most easily accessed crafting supply i have.
Does anyone have any ideas of uses for them, besides the typical collages? I've done the regular collages, they can get kind of boring and tedious after you've done so many (my last room was plastered on the walls with cutouts, ads, etc. etc.
I was thinking posibly creating some sort of wall-paper with them. Don't know how to do it, but i am sure it could be done.

B: i saw someone posted the other day about a homemade hammock. I have been DYING to create one, the only problem is, i have no place to hand a full, standard hammock. (i live in an apartment, with no balcony) What i have wanted to do instead was create a hanging chair, to hang in the corner of my room or out in the living room. Can anyone point me towards a pattern or directions? i would create my own, but i am utterly AWFUL with creating my own patterns. tried once, it ended in utter and complete failure. Plus i am not sure at all what supplies i need, especially to make the bolt and that strong enough to support a 150lb person.

thanks ^_^

Hi there.

Looking for some cellphone or PDA case sewing patterns ('cause they're all leather, or most of them are, and so I have to resort to making my own)... do any exist? Free would be nice, but if not I'll shell out cash.

Sorry if this has been asked before but I've looked as far back as I can on this community so I'll ask anyway!

I have big feet (UK 10) but adore platforms - not the commuter type but the type with a seperate heel, preferably a big chunky heel. Is there anyone who can help me with finding and using the right materials for modifying shoes? I've got a pair of flat bottomed ankle boots and built the soles up using layers of thick cork but I now need something to make the soles out of 'cos if I try to walk on the cork it will fall to bits in minutes :(

Also, I guess this is more difficult but what about the uppers of boots? I was thinking of buying these from eBay and cutting the straps off and making an ankle boot but wouldn't know where to start!

Any ideas of how to do this sort of stuff or if there is a community that would know?

hi. i'm liz. long time reader, first time poster.

(and i'm sorry in advance that my first post is a question. once my camera is fixed, i'll post pics of my creations)

my boyfriend and i go to school together in PA, but in the summers he lives in AZ and i'm still in PA. i'm visiting for 9 days this summer, though. as a nice gesture, i am making his parents some things. i decoupaged a pretty box with tissue paper (the overlapping looks HOT) and am filling it with pink, orange, and yellow flower shaped candies i'm making with candy molds. then i decoupaged a matching vase out of an old milk bottle and tissue paper. i want to fill the vase with paper flowers though.
there's my problem. the flowers i know how to make out of tissue paper are HUGE. (acordian style ones..elementary school style, i know). i can't seem to find any other patterns. does anyone know of any other paper or tissue paper flowers?

thanks so much. and i promise promise i'll post non-questions. thanks!
