Anybody know of a decent pattern for a fishtail skirt, preferably online?

And, is there a website out there that's like Knitty.com, but for sewing/clothing patterns?

Thanks.

I made this one out of an old tie and a piece of felt.
It's 5.5" x 5" x 1".

I used to make purses out of old pants that my brothers had worn to bits in the legs, I would save the top part, cut off the legs, and sew up the cut off parts to make a sturdy purse.

recently I've taken it back up, to make gifts for some of my friends, but I'm having trouble finding things like funky patches, metal buttons, small (about 3 inches long) zippers and decorative snaps. I will post pictures of what I've done, and I have read the faq, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good place to order things like these in bulk? (re:I'm a broke college student)

Any ideas?

if you like to look at lovely things made out of clay you should visit http://www.keramik-atelier.de
This is my cousin Franziska's website (well if we're being techincal her mother is my mother's cousin. I don't know, does that make us second cousins or third cousins?). I saw some of her work at her studio when I was in Germany 2 summers ago and it's so cool. I just happened upon her business card on the cluttered computer desk a few minutes ago and I checked out her site, and now she has even more beautiful creations.
The site is in German but if you click on any of headings in the second row (Gesichter, Skulpturen etc) you'll get to the pics of her sculptures.

I made myself a lanyard for work. I was wondering if this was something people thought could sell if I made similar ones for others? I can make them in just about any stout trim/ribbon (I sew two layers together for durability).

The one I've made is with trim that's about one=half inch wide, I could also make them larger (not much smaller, because they'd be a bit delicate) I can also make them more like the one in this auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2179027311&category=138) so that they have a detachable part at the bottom.

Blerh- I should probably exscuse any language mistakes I make. My brain seems to be on vacation.

So, recently I've been thinking about selling some of the stuff I make.
What I usually make would be small voodoo dolls, purses and skirts- I don't want to sell skirts, because clothing is generally easier to make for oneself.
I also think that, though they're fun to make, voodoo dolls would not sell very well. I'd primarely be interested in selling purses, wich takes about 2 hours to sew.

I was just wondering if you think that there is a point of opening a webstore of sorts to sell this? I saw that some girl had already opened up a pursestore. If this comes off as plagiarizing, I'm sorry- that's not at all my opinion. I've been thinking of it for a while, and her post made me become more turned on about the idea again.

What is a good way to do this? As in, how do I "spread the word"? Also, what do you think would be an acceptable price for a purse. Two hours of work. I'd like to make some profit from it, but I'm not too sure what's "too much" to ask for. Store price for normal purses where I live would be 20-30 dollars.

And I'm not able to sign up for a paypal membership (because I don't live in the states), what are other ways of paying? I live in Norway, if that matters.

Hello!
I just finally joined after lurking and occasionally commenting for a good month or so...
Anyway, I looked in the FAQ's but couldn't find anything, and I was wondering if anyone had ideas for crafting for charity... Preferably something that isn't knitting and something that I can do sitting at my summer job (delivering audio/visual equipment for the few summer classes at my college... a boring job, but 6.50 an hour to basically sit in a air conditioned office and do what I want)

thanks :) :) :)
