i know you can mod podge over paint, but can you paint over mod podge?

i was covering a box in plain white paper because i didn't have any paint. i finally got paint today (its black), so i was wondering if it would be okay to paint over the mod podged paper.

i just made my first record bowl...and it turned out great :D well, how can it not...heh...

anyway, i'm supposed to be making a load of these for my friends party...for her to put food in. so i was just wondering, is there anything i shouldn't use on it to clean it? as in, is there anything that will ruin the plastic or something? or would it be ok to use anything...like normal washing-up liquid and hotwater?...

help!

Ok. There is a picture I want to make into a stencil and I've been playing around with it in "PhotoStudio" which is a pain. I was wondering if anyone had this program and knew how to do it quickly and easily. I've checked the memories and can't seem to find any information on it.

Thanks.

I'm interested in how to paint dishes/cups, both ceramic and glass. Anything I need to know (ex: what kinf of paint to use) would be very much appreciated.

Thanks a lot! I was surprised this wasn't in the FAQ already.

Has anyone here bought a singer brand dress model before?
I'm looking to buy a plus sized one and the local craft store [australia] lincraft is selling them and i was wondering if anyone can tell me if they are any good.

Else is there another brand i should be looking at??

I've never bought a dress model so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

does anyone know what to call the fabric that has little puffy balls on it? it's usually used to make blankets. it's basically just a flat fabric that has puffy circle shaped things sticking up all over it. i've seen it before and i want to make a purse from that kind of fabric but i'm not sure what it's called. thanks.

x-posted, sorry.
I was walking through the bead aisle at work (Michaels) one day (danger danger!) and saw some cool metal looking letter beads. I pondered what I could do with them and this project was born.
This project was on hiatus for awhile because I bought a pack of a hundred letter beads and there were no "R"s inside! I had to wait for us to restock and then buy a new pack just for one "R".
Anyway It's a frame for my boyfriend that I bought on clearance for 1.75 and then niftied up.
It was just varnished wood originally so I sanded it, primed it, painted it gold, crackled it, and rubbed brown into the cracks, applied a sealer and glued on the letter beads.
He'll get it as soon as I find a cool enough picture of us to go inside.
have a look-see )

My boyfriend sent me a dozen roses today, and I wanted to know if anyone had recommendations on drying them besides hanging them upside down.

Any ideas?

Fabulous, no?

It's more of a home improvement thing but I was wondering, has anyone ever tried to remove the Ceiling Spray On Texture to flatten out the ceiling so you can paint it?

We have this spray on texture (looks like little balls) on the ceiling all throughout the house and I figured we can take a low grade sandpaper and flake most of it off still leaving a texture behind but mostly getting those little stucco or whatever balls off of the ceiling.

Ideas? Better yet, experience??

so i've decided i needed a place to store the mass amounts of concert ticket stus that have piled up over time. i had this ugly grey plastic box that once housed a computer mouse from the 80's. i got some magazines, found this lovely picture and some scraps of various orange paper, some plastic jewel stars and mod podge, and voila! you can't see in these pics, but i've painted the sides orange, and the inside is spray painted silver. my ticket stubs are happy :)

here's the front:

I've become a pocket shrine FIEND, lately, and my mom called me earlier tonight, all depressed about some stuff she's going through...

....So, I'm finishing up a cat-themed pocket shrine for her.

I've been buying paper mache boxes, for less than a buck, at Wal-Mart in various sizes, so, I painted one of the small round ones Hot pink on the outside and purple inside, then since my mom adores white cats, above all others, I had some stickers that I bought that were real-life cat pictures and decorated the outside with all the white ones, putting a Persian one on the inside, as the focus, since she has an insanely spoiled Persian...then, since I was a bit unsure how to finish it off, I looked up how to spell the word cat in various languages and painted several of those, in different colours, around the inside picture...and, the top decoration is just a stencild "C" with a tiny heart painted beside it, and I'm going to tie some pretty, sheer, pink ribbon, for decoration on it too.

...and now, I'm off to srub the multi-coloured paint splatters off my hands.. ;)

Quick crafty question. My school's homecoming theme is Famous Couples. My boyfriend and I chose Tarzan and Jane, because I found a great leopard-print dress. Now, how do I dress him? Nothing too outrageous; he embarasses easily. My only ideas were to go Hollywood Jungle. My dress is classy, so maybe he could wear khakis and a beige shirt with a leopard tie? Or, trashy, with a t-shirt stenciled "ME TARZAN". No loincloths, please.

Also, if I do go for the stenciled shirt I want to have on my person "Me Jane". My mom suggested a "MY NAME IS" tag, but I know I can get more creative than that. A leopard-print armband with embroidery/iron-ons? I know you have great ideas. Lemme hear 'em!

hi all,

i bought a plywood box/storage type thing at ikea [if you've ever been there i'm sure you've seen them before.. they come in a few sizes, fairly inexpensive, and made of plywood] and i plan on painting it and then putting pictures of his favorite singers on the drawers that pull out.

my question is this:

i painted it with acrylic paint and am going to just modge podge the pictures [that my girlfriend is printing at work-- she works in a print shop, so they'll be printed on fairly good, heavy duty paper] on. is this the best way to adhere them to the wood?

also-- i bought wood varnish to seal it but i know that modge podge can also be used as a sealer. would the m.p. work well to seal it? more specifically the pictures but the entire structure as well.

thanks!
