Hi all - this site was listed in last month's Dollmaker's Journey newsletter, and although it deals with wood-turning, I thought it could be of use to any craftgrrls who make small crafts they'd like to photograph better.

Hi. I tried making the magnets with the little stones last night and the glue I used totally didn't work. I used "Clear Gel Tacky Glue" by Aleens. I've read that silicone glue is recommended, but I don't know what I'm looking for. Does it come in a tube or does anyone have any suggestions of brand or where to purchase?

Thanks

i know some one had asked about this previously but i couldn't find anything in the FAQ. i did look though. so here's my dilema.
i'm getting married in three months. for my guest book, i want to take a blank journal and paste translucent envelopes on the pages then leave a stack of coloured paper for people to write messages on and leave in the envelopes. i've seen it done and it's looks nice.
and i don't want to fudge it, so my craftees, i need some envelope patterns, if anyone would know where to send me?
thanks in advance, you're all always so helpful.
[EDIT]- that should read as three weeks. gulp.....

Well I went to my local thrift shop, and saw this awesome brand new messenger bag for five dollars. The only problem was, the top flap was this ugly green colour with a giant embroidered picture of Cailou (you know that cartoon for like 5 year olds?) on it. So what I did was heat up the old glue gun, and cover it with some black and grey pinstripe fabrice I bought. Then I made a stencil of a skull an crossbones, and painted it onto the bag using glittery silver fabric paint. I'm pretty proud of it. I think it worked pretty well, considering the fact that I didn't have access to a sewing machine.

I need stencils / stencil designs.
Can anyone hook a sistah up?

This was my first try at working with felt.

I don't have any close ups of the hearts, they're both machine sewed on. I think next time I'll hand stich them with big quilt stitching.

and i know how much we frown on advertising here..

Hi there. I've spent about the last 2 hours or more looking for this ONE post on LJ about turning a hardcover book into a purse.

I have looked through all of the memories section of this community, and skimmed my other craft communities looking for the ONE post.

It included pictures of the finished product and a picture of the pattern used to make it.

I'm making it for a friends birthday which is on Saturday, so any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :o)

I started knitting my first blanket, after making a couple of things, but it's been a few months, and I forgot how to end the square! Can someone give me very simple easy instructions in plain English please?

I'm not very good at knitting, and only know the very basics. I can't even change colors!

Please help!!

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows how to make or where I can find a tutorial on how to make bleeding candles? you know, the ones that are one color on the outside, and red on the inside so when they burn it looks like they're bleeding. THANKS A BUNCH!
