duck theme

one of my neighbors, mari is going to be having a girl next year, but there are already 3 seperate baby showers getting planned. i need gift help. i already have a gift for one shower (a picture of ducks i got a micheal's), for another shower i'm planning on making her some stuffed felt duckies, but i'm not sure what to do for the other shower. the theme is duckies, and her daughter's name will be Genesis. i don't have much spending cash, and i'd rather make things anyway. and if it matters, she also has a currently 3 year old son, so it has to be boy-proof as well.

any/all ideas GREATLY appreciated!

I finished a scarf yetserday, it's for my friend for Christmas. Unfortunately i don't have the resources to show you pictures, but I'll tell you about it....

It's grey and green acrylic yarn, crotheted. it starts out on one end with a thick grey strip (18 rows, followed by a thin green one (2 rows). THen the next grey strip has 2 fewer rows, and the next green one has two more, so by the time I get to the other end, the grey has decreased to 2 rows and the green has increased to 18 rows. And there's grey fringe on one end and green fringe on the other.

THe knitting/crothet/cross stitch + a quilter group that I'm in on campus started a guild yesterday. We made little membership cards and everything!

Finally, my first post with something I've made. This community is so great, very inspirational. Anyway, these are a few pieces I made as gifts. The pendant for a friend and the earrings for my Mum.

it's mine and my boyfriends one year anniversary on December the 3rd. and i want to make a few things for him...
i know i should know what to make coz he's my boyfriend, blah blah blah, or something ;P but i just want ideas really.
i'm already making him a photo frame, with a few photos of us in...and using computer keyboard keys to write something. i got that idea from reading something in the memories here, i think...so whoever that was, thanks, hehe :) at the top, i was going to put 'Jez and Lee', then at the bottom 'One Year Anniversary'. but that just seems a bit boring. i was going to write 'geeks' or 'nerds'...as he's a computer gaming geek...but, i'm not, which doesn't help, heh.
also, yesterday was the day a year ago that we first met. so from then up to our anniversary, i'm making tiny things for him. mainly little felt lips...as kisses...coz he has a bad tooth, and i have coldsores. i also got that idea off here too :D
so yeah, what other tiny things on the run up to our anniversary could i make? and bigger things for our actual anniversary?
any ideas are appreciated! :)

stuff!

hey craftgrrls (and boys)...ages ago, i made a choker necklace with lots of varied beads, and just recently it broke (beads everywhere! though i managed to save most of them). i want to fashion something new with the beads but i'm not sure what to string them on...the choker i made with waxed dental floss (most likely why it disintegrated). a friend of mine has a really neat beaded 'wire' that's bendy and snakes around her wrist...i'd like to do something like that maybe, but what kind of wire should i use? and what kind of contraption should i use to fasten the ends? or, if i want to go with a choker again, what kind of string/thread?

I finally found some time to clear up my website images, and to up date portions of my website with some things I've made a while ago. Yay! I feel very productive.
Since all the things I've made were pre-me finding the craftgrrl community, I thought I should post a link, so you can see what I've made in the past.

I didn't want anyone to think that I was all talk, and no action :)

Here is the link to Handma(i)d(e).

[identity profile] starbellyangel.livejournal.com
so.. i have a bunch of scrap material (mostly felts) and a plain black bikini that i want to decorate. any creative tips?
i thought it was worth asking, and i really appreciate any response! =]
[identity profile] marilynmonrobot.livejournal.com
did anyone else watch the martha stewart interview with barbara walters?

i'm just curious as to what other people think. i've done A LOT of research into this case (due to an economics class and an interest in law) and know quite a bit.

i'm just upset with how she was treated. it's unfair. as usual.

feedback?

and to make this crafty: does anyone have any ideas on how to non-permanently attach ribbon to strappy shoes, as in on the straps? thanks
