Mornin..

Anyone have any idea what these Sizzix thingies run at? I figure if Michaels.com has a page with 101 things you can do with it (Aka.. 101 justifications).. It's GOTTA be pricey!
I have a coupon tho.. for 50% off ANY one regular priced item.. :)

Here's a babyshower cake I made.

It's a white cake with strawberry filling and white chocolate glaze. I made the butterflies out of white chocolate as well. The flowers are made of marzipan. I don't know if you can tell but there is irridescent shimmer on the butterfly wings and on the flowers.

Hello hello everyone. I don't think I've made an intro, so if I haven't, Hi! My name's Tarley, and I love craft (that's pretty self explainitory considering the type of community it is).

Anyway I just wanted to show my first ever attempt at making a doll, using a sewing machine I've never used, and with the smallest amount of sewing skills that I know.

I apologise for the cruddy digi photo. I guess in a way it's good, because you can't see how rough it looks. Even though in comparison to pretty much everone else's dolls, it's crap, but I quite like it. It's a working progress, I need to zip down to Lincraft next week and buy some embroidery thread for the eyes, mouth and hair.

But yes, my erm, post... *ahem*...

Hello, I'm a new member. I found this community awhile ago and now I've finally joined. Yay.

Anyway. I crocheted a pair of wrist-warmers. If they suck, forgive me, it's really my first attempt at crocheting anything...

Pictures? )

I made some reversable butterfly wings for a 4 year old's Halloween costume. Hopefully soon I'll get pictures of them actually on her! :)

hey everyone. i need some help. i want to get started on christmas presents for my friends. i'm not sure what i'm doing though. i got a present from a friend awhile ago and it was a pillow that had my name embroidered in it with embrodiery fabric (the fabric was somehow attached to the pillow). i'm not sure how to explain it, but i was thinking about making my friends pillows. i just dont know how. if someone could send me somewhere that will teach me, or tell me yourselves, that would be awesome. thanks!

Hola People! I've been a long time lurker here. My name is Sarah, and I'm a historical costumer normally, but I *love* crafty stuff with a passion. It's my stress relief.

Anyhoo, I have a question, but I figured I would offer up some photos of a couple of recent projects of mine before asking for some ideas.

A t-shirt and a scarf... )

And now for the question: I have a growing collection of those International Coffee tins and their plastic lids thanks to my addiction to the stuff. I'm saving them because I *know* they will be good for *something*, but I can't figure out what exactly that might be. Does anyone have some good ideas about what to do with these things?

Thanks in advance! :)

Hi. I've never posted anything here yet, but I have a question and I figured this was definitely the place to come for help.

I've been doing practicum classes with a second grade class. I'd like to make something to give the kids at the end of the semester, but it'd have to be something relatively cheap, and I need to be able to make plenty (about 20). My mom suggested little goody bags, with pencils and stuff, but I kind of wanted to actually make something myself.

So. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!

Hey everyone, I've never posted in here before, but I'm working on a craft/activity zine. This isn't a how to zine, just a zine with lots of neat little fun projects in it. Anyway, I need submissions because while I enjoy getting crafty, I don't know every fun & easy project out there. So, PLEASE submit your step-by-step fun project / activity / craft that you think everyone needs to know about. Include pictures if possible!!

Here's a list of possibilities:

--decorative cards / stationery / paper (can include using felt, glitter, glue, embossing, etc.)
--pillows
--tote / handbags
--knitting patterns
--any kinds of toys (i.e. stuffed critters...)
--candles / soap (preferably without the kits, if you know any good ways)
--journals, artbooks, etc.
--picture frames / home decor
--jewelry / DIY fashion
--fun & easy recipes
--can also submit crafty books, zines & website reviews

I would prefer it that anything you submit is animal-friendly, for example, don't submit something that tells us how to make a journal out of leather hides ( that's bad!! ) , and vegan / vegetarian recipes are also preferred ( that's good!! ) .

And of course any cool craft thing you do that I haven't listed here and you want to share is more than welcome. If you submit something that sounds more like tips & tricks, it will be added into the "dictionary," section at the back of the zine, since there are already a number of wonderful zines that are how-to guides.

So I'm restating once again, just to clarify, that this is an ACTIVITY zine.

Please send any questions and all submissions by Dec. 5 to:
theredmarina@yahoo.com

Snail mail (drawings, photos & etc.) can go to:
Meredith
4602 54th #234
Lubbock, TX 79414

All contributors will get a free copy of the zine, plus my undying love and admiration!

xoxo

fancy chandeliers have those dangly plastic somewhat circular yet more geometric crystals. i assume they would be called chandelier crystals... has anyone seen them for sale, minus the actual lamp? perhaps in a big assortment.

I work at Hobby Lobby and have been been given the task of decorating a few paper mache boxes for a display. Supplies are free (score.). I know that one i am going to dedicate to rock and roll (in a somewhat mild fashion, as it is a christian-owned store), but don't have many ideas with the others. Any suggestions?

Also! i use openshoebox for image hosting and it is great, but do any of you know of any good websites for hosting mp3s?

i want to create little change pouches from scratch and am wondering where i get the (metal??) things at the opening....it seems like there's two strips of metal that can fold open but otherwise they much prefer stayed parallel, keeping the pouch closed...i don't know how to explain it, so i'm hoping you guys will know what i'm talking about.
